Die Weinlese findet in den ersten zehn Tagen des Oktobers statt. Die Weinbereitung umfasst eine lange Mazeration der Schalen über 25 Tage und eine Gärung im Stahl. Die Reifung erfolgt für 6 Monate in französischen und slawonischen Eichenfässern (20 % Holz der ersten und 80 % Holz der zweiten Lage) und weitere 4 Monate in der Flasche. Intensive rubinrote Farbe, volles Bouquet, in dem reife Pflaumen dominieren, im Mund dann tertiäre Noten von Schokolade und Kakao. Er passt gut zu reifen Käsesorten, Wurstwaren und Fleischgerichten.
